Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 14, 2026
Fiat Growth, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates WeightSherpa (“the Site”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our Site. Because WeightSherpa discusses health topics and weight-loss medications, we treat the information you share with us with particular care. Please read this policy carefully. By using WeightSherpa, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
We may collect information you voluntarily provide when you create an account, subscribe to our newsletter, use our Matcher, eligibility checker, calculators, or insurance tools, interact with our AI chat, submit a contact or partner form, or otherwise communicate with us. This may include your name, email address, ZIP code, and information you enter into our tools (such as your goals, general health background, medication history, insurance carrier, and weight-related inputs like height, weight, or BMI). Some of this information may reflect health-related attributes. We are not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA; the information you submit to WeightSherpa is governed by this Privacy Policy rather than by HIPAA. You should not submit diagnoses, lab results, or other sensitive clinical records through our tools.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and usage, including IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and click patterns. We collect this information through cookies, web beacons, server logs, and similar technologies.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third-party services you use to log in to WeightSherpa (such as authentication providers), from our email provider, and from analytics and advertising partners.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Site and our services, personalize content and Matcher recommendations, send newsletters and updates you have opted into, respond to your inquiries and support requests, analyze usage trends to improve our content and tools, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Artificial Intelligence & Your Data
WeightSherpa uses artificial intelligence technology in several aspects of our operations. This section explains how AI interacts with your data.
3.1 AI-Assisted Content Generation
We use AI tools to assist in creating educational content such as articles, guides, and comparison tables. This content-generation process does not use your personal information. AI-assisted content is reviewed and approved by our human editorial team before publication. For more details on our content practices, see our Disclosure Policy.
3.2 Sherpa Matcher & AI Chat
When you use our Matcher or AI chat, the inputs you provide (which may include general health information such as weight-loss goals, BMI range, medication history, or insurance status) are processed by a third-party AI service (currently Anthropic’s Claude API) to generate responses. Inputs and outputs may be logged and stored in our database to improve service quality, debug issues, and prevent abuse. We do not share your chat inputs with advertisers or data brokers. Our AI service providers are contractually prohibited from using your inputs to train their foundation models.
3.3 Personalization
We may use automated systems, including AI, to personalize content recommendations and improve your experience on the Site. This is based primarily on aggregated usage patterns and does not involve sharing your personal information with external AI providers for their own model training.
3.4 Your Data and AI Model Training
We do not use your personal information to train proprietary AI models. We do not sell your data to AI companies. When third-party AI services are used, those services are subject to data-processing agreements that limit how your data may be used.
4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect usage data, remember your preferences, and improve our services. Essential cookies are necessary for the Site to function (such as authentication and session management). Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site. Affiliate cookies help us and our partners track referrals and measure the effectiveness of our recommendations. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share health-related information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share your information with:
- Service providers who assist in operating the Site (such as hosting, analytics, email delivery, database, and authentication providers), bound by confidentiality and data-processing obligations.
- Affiliate partners, but only to the extent necessary to track referrals (such as a click ID). We do not transmit your name, email, or specific health inputs to affiliate partners when you click an affiliate link. If you choose to submit your information directly to a partner on that partner’s site, that submission is governed by the partner’s privacy policy.
- Law enforcement or regulatory bodies when required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to the protections of this policy.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest for sensitive fields, access controls, and monitoring. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Matcher inputs and AI chat logs are retained on a rolling basis for quality assurance and abuse prevention. If you request deletion of your account or data, we will remove your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, opt out of marketing communications, and request information about how your data is processed by automated systems including AI. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@weightsherpa.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. California Residents
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion of your personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CPRA. Health-related information you submit is treated as sensitive personal information and is used only to deliver the services you request and to improve them. To make a verifiable consumer request, contact us at privacy@weightsherpa.com.
10. Other State Privacy Rights
Residents of states including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana may have additional rights under their state privacy laws, including the rights to access, correct, delete, and port their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or certain profiling. Residents of Washington State and Nevada may have additional rights under the My Health My Data Act and similar laws regarding consumer health data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@weightsherpa.com.
11. Children’s Privacy
WeightSherpa is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.
12. Third-Party Links & Providers
The Site contains links to third-party websites, telehealth platforms, and programs that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. If you submit information to a third-party provider (including any telehealth intake form), that submission is governed by the third party’s privacy policy, which may include HIPAA protections if the provider is a covered entity.
13. International Users
WeightSherpa is operated from the United States and is intended for U.S. residents. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes may be communicated via email or a notice on the Site.
15. Contact Us
